WHAT’S FOR DINNER? SAN FRANCISCO BURGER

What's for dinner? San Francisco Burger

Let’s see if this sounds familiar.  It’s a weeknight.  You race out of work to pick up one child from daycare and then get home just in time to get your older one off the school bus.  Then it’s time to unpack from the day, take the dog for a walk, help get homework completed… and then the after school activities start.  Piano lessons, soccer practice, dance class.  And somewhere in between all that chaos comes the dreaded question… What’s for dinner?!

We’ve been trying really hard this year in our house to rely on take-out way less.  Gathering around the dinner table, even if just for a few minutes, is a well-needed moment of stillness in an otherwise chaotic schedule of never-ending events.  And that’s why I’m beyond happy to have stumbled upon Quick N’ Eat Flame Grilled Angus Beef Patties!

They literally SAVE weeknight dinner on a regular basis!  I love that my local Costco sells them by the box… we always have them on hand in the freezer.  You can also find them in your local Walmart and Sam’s Club!

We all love burger night at our house, especially when they are ready in as little as two minutes.  Yes, you read that right.  TWO minutes in the microwave!  They come out perfectly juicy with a deliciously meaty flame grilled flavor!

If you have a little more time, you can also heat up these versatile patties in the oven, in a skillet, or on the grill!

The kids usually stick to classic cheeseburgers with ketchup, but my wife and I love to get fancy with the toppings!  This past week I reminisced about a vacation we took pre-kids to San Francisco and Napa Valley.

We enjoyed a lot of great wine on that trip, so I caramelized some slices of red onion and then braised the onions in some leftover red wine we had from the day prior.  The result are these stunning purple-hued jammy onions that are the perfect sweet and savory gourmet burger topping!

To give some contrasting texture to this San Francisco Burger, I quickly fried up some shallots.  They are super easy to whip up and are crazy addicting.  I have to be careful not to eat the entire batch before they make their way onto the burgers!  Definitely one of my favorite toppings for burgers and crostini.  And of course I can’t think of California without avocado, so we added a few slices to add their lusciousness to the burgers.

Just like that, burger night is served and another quick and easy weeknight dinner has been saved with Quick n’ Eat Beef Patties!
