San Francisco Burgers

4 Quick n’ Eat Beef Patties, cooked according to package directions
4 brioche burger buns
1 avocado, sliced
4 shallots, sliced
½ cup all purpose flour
Vegetable oil
Kosher salt
Red Wine Braised Onions (recipe below)

Red Wine Braised Onions
2 red onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup red wine
Kosher salt

  1. Add ½” vegetable oil in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat. Meanwhile, toss sliced shallots and flour together until well coated. In batches, fry shallots in oil until golden brown, about 30-60 seconds. Remove from oil to a paper towel lined plate and season with Kosher salt. Repeat as needed.
  2. Top burgers with red wine braised onions, avocado, and fried shallots.

Red Wine Braised Onions

  1. Heat oil and butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add onions, season with Kosher salt, and cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are softened, about 10 minutes. Add brown sugar and half of the red wine. Bring to a simmer and let cook until onions have absorbed most of the wine. Add remaining wine and continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, until onions are very soft and wine has been absorbed.
